In March 2005, the Premier of South Australia, Hon. Mike Rann, announced that the Lochiel Park residential development “…(will) become the nation’s model ‘Green village’ incorporating Ecological Sustainable Development (ESD) technologies”.
State Government developer LMC (Land Management Corporation) set aside a portion of the 15-hectare site for the residential site.
Energy Architecture was engaged during the master planning stage of the residential development for consultation on setting measures for sustainable development, for urban planning advice, and development of unprecedented and robust Sustainable Design Guidelines.
The overarching aim in Energy Architecture’s participation in the Lochiel Park project has been to define clear, unambiguous environmental targets, and provide paths to achieving them, while stretching industry to respond appropriately.
