Our buildings can provide comfortable conditions with reduced energy use and greenhouse gas emissions. If windows are opened and closed appropriate to wind strength and direction, and shades and shutters opened and drawn relevant to sun intensity and angle, internal climate can be controlled. This can mean no cooling required except in the longest hottest spells, and heating can supplement what is harvested and stored from the sun.
We design our buildings to be very liveable, with open plan and indoor/outdoor relationship, with courtyards and outlooks carefully oriented to maximise passive solar benefits.
